What We Believe

Village Bible is part of an association of about 1,300 autonomous churches united by a mutual commitment to serve Jesus Christ and His mission. This association, or denomination, is called The Evangelical Free Church of America. It was established in 1950.
Evangelical says we’re committed to the gospel – the good news that the power of sin and death over people has been defeated through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Our confidence in the good news comes from our complete trust that the Bible is God’s Word – without error in the original documents and fully trustworthy as God’s revelation of His will for all human life.

Free refers to the freedom that local congregations have, though part of the Evangelical Free Church, to govern themselves and to determine how they will worship, organize, and carry out their Christian mission. Our association is important, but voluntary. We cooperate to accomplish a greater mission, but we’re not governed or controlled by a denominational hierarchy.
